双语时事：中国3月重返贸易顺差

China's trade balance shifted back into positive territory in March as exports from the world's biggest trader of goods accelerated and imports slowed, according to government data released Tuesday.

　　中国政府周二发布的数据显示，由于出口加速而进口放缓，3月贸易帐户重回正值。中国是全球最大的商品贸易国。

　　Exports in March increased 8.9 per cent from the same month last year while imports rose 5.3 per cent, leaving the country with a $5.4bn trade surplus for the month and a $670m surplus for the year so far. In February China recorded a $31.5bn trade deficit.

　　中国3月出口同比增长8.9%，进口增长5.3%，实现贸易顺差54亿美元。中国今年迄今为止实现贸易顺差6.7亿美元。2月，中国录得315亿美元的贸易逆差。

　　The trade figures are being closely watched for signs of further deterioration in China's economy, which has been gradually slowing since the start of last year.

　　外界密切关注中国贸易数据，希望从中发现中国经济是否在进一步恶化。自去年年初以来，中国经济一直在逐步放缓。

　　The acceleration in exports is likely to be seen as positive because of the continuing importance of the export sector to China's overall economy, but weaker import numbers could be a concern to policy makers worried about a slowdown in domestic demand.

　　由于出口部门对中国整体经济依然重要，出口增长加速可能被视为是积极信号，但进口数据不佳，可能令担心内需放缓的政策制定者头疼。

　　Cooling import growth could also presage an export slowdown as a large proportion of China's imports are raw materials and other items that are turned into finished goods and re-exported.

　　进口增速下降也可能预示着出口放缓，因为中国进口中，很大一部分是原材料和其它可以加工成成品并重新出口的商品。

　　The latest figures showed Chinese exports growing at a faster pace in March from the 6.9 per cent year-on-year increase registered in the first two months, and a slowdown in imports, which increased 7.7 per cent in the first two months.

　　最新的数据显示，3月份中国出口同比增幅高于前两个月6.9%的速度，但是进口放缓。前两个月进口增幅为7.7%。

　　Despite the mild acceleration in March, China's export performance was still a lot weaker than it was last year, when exports grew 20.3 per cent for the whole year.

　　尽管3月份中国出口增速有所加快，但是表现依然不及去年。2011年中国全年出口增幅达20.3%。

　　The slowdown is largely a result of weak demand from Europe, China's largest trade partner, and to a lesser extent the US.

　　增速放缓主要是因为中国最大出口伙伴——欧洲的需求疲软，另外美国的需求减弱也是原因之一。

　　In the first three months, exports to Europe dropped 1.8 per cent from a year earlier, while exports to the US, China's second largest trading partner, grew 12.8 per cent. In contrast, trade with other developing countries is growing rapidly, albeit from a low base.

　　今年前三个月，中国对欧出口同比下降1.8%，对第二大出口伙伴——美国的出口增长了12.8%。相比之下，中国对其他发展中国家的出口贸易虽然基数小，但是迅速增长。

　　In the first quarter, Chinese exports to Russia increased 14.6 per cent, while imports increased 49.2 per cent. Over the same period, exports to Brazil grew 19.2 per cent while imports rose 7.0 per cent.

　　今年第一季度，中国对俄罗斯出口增长了14.6%，而进口则增长了49.2%。同期中国对巴西出口增长了19.2%，进口增长7.0%。
